Don Norman

3 ways good design makes you happy

In this video Don Norman begins talking about good design and what makes it aesthetically beautiful.  He addresses how the emotion of a consumer is important to recognize when designing.  Don talks about the how anxiety focuses the mind and how happiness makes you a better problem solver.  The visceral experience of a design is one way good design makes you happy.  The behavioral experience of design effects how we interact with a design.  For my project I chose a battery because of its durability and simplistic design.

It has been present in society for many years now and because of this we can conclude that when people interact with the design there behavioral experience is positive or unchanged.  I learned that the mind is the key to discovering good design and how people will interact with a design.  It pertains to my major because the emotion one has as a designer may have a good or negative effect on design production and should not go unrecognized.
